Deep Sea Bottom Fishing for Stingrays & Sharks: Done over a big sandbank in 100-150ft of water, we start off by catching some Mackerel on the feathers for bait, then depending on wind strength we either drift or anchor, here we use 30lb rods to catch Stingrays, Eagle rays, Hammerhead sharks, Angel sharks, Skate, Smoothound and Tope or if you don’t want to go for these species, then you can always try for the little ones on the 10lb rods, Bream, Weavers, Lizard fish, Trigger fish, etc.. Ideal for the family and those who just want to catch fish, and remember that some of those Stingrays can go over 300lbs. Shallow Bottom Fishing for Bream & Trevally: This is done over rocky grounds in 80-100ft of water, we use frozen squid as bait, this can only be done when conditions are right, no current and a very light breeze, as we can only drift. Here we use the 10lb rods to catch various Bream of different species, trevally & a variety of others. Jigging for Amberjack, Dentex & Groupers: Fishing in 300-400ft of water and over a rocky bottom, we use speed jigs of various weights and colours as bait and fresh Mackerel. This type of fishing can also only be done with the right conditions, no current and only a light breeze. Sometimes this type of fishing can be a bit slow, but believe us that a big 50-70lb Amberjack is always worth the wait. Shark Fishing for Blues, Makos & Hammerheads: Drifting and chumming the area, we use ballons to space the baits, all sharks are released. Trolling for Barracuda, Skipjack Tuna & Small Amberjack: Depending on season and the days condition, we troll along the coast with the light 10lb rods for Barracuda, Lizard fish, Atlantic Bonito and small Amberjack. We can troll a little bit further out with the 12-16lb rods for Skipjack Tuna and Dolphin fish, or we can use the 30-50lb rods for the bigger ones, Wahoo, Albacore Tuna, Big eye Tuna, Yellow fin Tuna or even a Marlin. |
