50 lbs Amberjack, rays and smooth hound.

Another good few days fishing, Tuesday morning we done ok with plenty of bait and then on the bottom we had four rays biggest about 50 lbs and a nice 35 lbs smooth hound, the afternoon we saw one of the biggest hammerhead sharks I've ever seen around the fish farms it must have been about 250 lbs and we nearly hit it with the boat, I had to move out of its way, any way we couldn't hook it but we managed to get 4 rays up, the wednesday was again another 7 hour charter with Tom Lane and after catching the bait we headed off to the bottom but only found 2 stingrays so we decided to go and find some barracudas, we found 3 and a few lizard fish, today has been a long one, this morning we struggled to find bait but eventually did, then went to the bottom but the wind changed and we hooked in to some fish cages and lost all tackle so I repositioned the boat and we caught 4 rays biggest was a 100 lbs round spotted ray, the afternoon we looked for barracuda but failed to catch any so caught some more mackerel then back to the bottom, we done good with 4 rays biggest about 70 lbs and we also caught a nice 50 lbs greater Amberjack, then another trip this evening with Tom lane again, night fishing, we had 1 smooth hound and 7 spur dogs and 1 stingray. Not Bad. |
